EconoSpace glass spacer is a neutral pH plastic peel & stick type art glass separator that bonds to the edge of the acrylic or glass in a custom picture frame. This is used to make the proper airspace between the art and acrylic or glass in either wood or metal picture frames. Glass spacers are cut a little bigger than the size you order so you can cut them to the exact size you need. Some artwork should never come in direct contact with glass or acrylic. Using glass spacer will protect artwork from moisture damage caused when there is no air space between art and the glazing. NOTE: SPACERS ORDERED OVER 5 FEET WILL BE SPLICED.
Our sizing wizard is designed to use the exact width and height of the artwork or picture you wish to frame. We add the necessary amount to allow your glass or canvas to have a little room inside the frame for expansion and contraction.
The following example shows a stretched canvas or a watercolor image on paper. The green lines are indicating where to measure the art. Enter the exact width and height you measure as the "artwork dimensions" in the area above.
The airspace these provide prevent mold growth, paper buckling, image transfer and adhesion to the acrylic or glass. It is available in 3 sizes 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 inch thickness and each size comes in clear or black. EconoSpace can be used to frame photographs, watercolors, pastels, any paper art or document.
