ACRYLITE Gallery UV Filtering Non-Glare OP3 P99 combines conservation-grade UV protection with a subtly textured surface that diffuses distracting reflections. It is designed for framed artwork that needs both long-term protection and improved viewing under challenging room lighting.
The OP3 UV-filtering properties are built throughout the acrylic, while the one-sided P99 surface provides economical non-glare performance. Every sheet is custom cut by WebPictureFrames to the exact width and height you select.
ACRYLITE OP3 P99 is made for conservation framing, museums, galleries and protective displays. It filters the ultraviolet wavelengths associated with fading, yellowing and brittleness while diffusing reflections from windows, lamps and overhead lighting.
Provides conservation-grade UV filtering for watercolors, drawings, prints, photographs and other light-sensitive materials.
The textured P99 surface diffuses reflections from windows, lamps and overhead lighting.
Suitable for certificates, historical documents, autographs, textiles and meaningful keepsakes.
Combines conservation protection with lower weight and greater break resistance than glass.
Watch our framing specialist explain how conservation non-glare acrylic combines UV filtering with a matte viewing surface that diffuses distracting room reflections.
The UV-filtering properties are present throughout the OP3 sheet, but the non-glare texture is located on one side. Install the smooth side toward the artwork and the textured P99 side outward toward the viewer.
For the clearest presentation, keep the acrylic reasonably close to the image. Greater distance between the artwork and a textured non-glare surface can make fine details appear softer. Use appropriate mats when the artwork should not contact the glazing.
| Acrylic | Viewing surface | UV performance | Best choice when |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACRYLITE P99 | Textured non-glare | Approximately 90 percent UV filtering from 200 to 390 nm | You need economical glare reduction for everyday framing |
| ACRYLITE OP3 | Smooth and clear | Nearly complete UV filtering | You need conservation UV protection with maximum untreated clarity |
| ACRYLITE OP3 P99 | Textured non-glare | Nearly complete UV filtering | You need conservation protection and economical glare diffusion |
| Tru Vue Optium Museum Acrylic | Anti-reflective | 99 percent UV blocking | You want premium clarity, anti-static performance and abrasion resistance |

Standard OP3 P99 is not abrasion resistant. Careful handling and acrylic-safe cleaning will help preserve both the clear and textured surfaces.
OP3 identifies the conservation-grade UV-filtering acrylic. P99 identifies the subtly textured non-glare surface applied to one side.
ACRYLITE describes OP3 P99 as filtering nearly 100 percent of ultraviolet light within its specified UV range.
The smooth side faces the artwork. The textured P99 non-glare surface faces outward toward the viewer.
No. It uses a textured surface to diffuse glare. Anti-reflective acrylic such as Optium Museum Acrylic uses optical coatings to reduce reflections while preserving greater fine-detail clarity.
The subtle texture can soften very fine detail, especially when positioned far from the artwork. Keeping the glazing reasonably close to the image provides the clearest result.
No. It requires careful handling and cleaning with acrylic-safe materials. Optium Museum Acrylic is the better choice when abrasion resistance is required.
No glazing can prevent all fading. OP3 P99 substantially reduces UV exposure, but visible light, display duration, environmental conditions and artwork materials also affect deterioration.
