Best Uses for ACRYLITE OP3 P99

Install the P99 Surface Facing Out

The UV-filtering properties are present throughout the OP3 sheet, but the non-glare texture is located on one side. Install the smooth side toward the artwork and the textured P99 side outward toward the viewer.

For the clearest presentation, keep the acrylic reasonably close to the image. Greater distance between the artwork and a textured non-glare surface can make fine details appear softer. Use appropriate mats when the artwork should not contact the glazing.

OP3 P99 Compared With Clear OP3

• UV protection: Both use the same conservation-grade OP3 UV-filtering material.
• Reflection control: OP3 P99 adds a textured surface that diffuses reflections; clear OP3 does not.
• Detail clarity: Clear OP3 provides the sharpest untreated view, while OP3 P99 may slightly soften fine detail.
• Weight and safety: Both are lightweight and shatter resistant.
• Best use: Choose OP3 P99 when glare reduction and conservation protection are both important.

How to Handle and Clean OP3 P99

• Leave the protective paper masking in place until the frame is ready for assembly.
• Install the smooth side toward the artwork and the textured P99 side toward the viewer.
• Handle the acrylic by its edges whenever possible.
• Remove loose dust gently before wiping either surface.
• Use a clean, soft microfiber cloth and a cleaner approved for acrylic.
• Do not use abrasive pads, paper towels or dry wiping.
• Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, alcohol and harsh solvents.
• Do not aggressively rub or polish the textured surface.

Standard OP3 P99 is not abrasion resistant. Careful handling and acrylic-safe cleaning will help preserve both the clear and textured surfaces.
