This genuine solid oak hardwood picture frame moulding features a beautifully-aged and distressed finish inspired by the Italian old world style of hand-carved craftsmanship. Markings and weathering throughout the dark stained, waxed finish simulate the resilient feeling of being passed down from generation to generation.
The profile starts with a concave scoop at the inner lip, leading up to a repetitive notched pattern over a cylindrical protrusion, followed by a 1” flat plateau that drops into a larger concave scoop, finished off with two consecutive rows of notches on the outer edge of the profile – one row is convex while the other is concave.
At nearly 3” wide in solid oak, this picture frame is strong, durable, and hardened, with deep roots in a sense of tradition, family, and storytelling. It is best suited for artwork and memorabilia that is sentimental, such as vintage family portraiture, or western art that celebrates or mythologizes cowboys and the American West.
