V640 is a wide and substantial gold moulding with a concave scoop, featuring a decorative embossed pattern and a textured gold finish that emulates the look of gilt wax. It features a 1-3/4” outer edge depth, and a 3/4” rabbet depth, perfect for original paintings on stretched canvas, mirrors, and unique decorative art.
The look of embossing under a multi-layered gold finish gives this frame moulding an antiquated feel from a whimsical and contemporary perspective. The scoop leads your eye in toward your art, but also assists the outer edge of the frame in visually containing all imagery. The warmth and golden tonality of the finish complement royal colors such as purple, ultramarine blue, and raspberry, but also more muted and monochromatic colors such as khaki and sand.
Perhaps the best way to utilize this moulding is to focus on the living room. Mirrors, large matted prints, or original canvases are perhaps the best things to frame in this moulding, and the width of the frame allows for framing just about any size of artwork. The rabbet depth, however, is 3/4”, so extra deep canvases will stick out the back of this frame. If you would like a smaller version of this profile, we offer V569, which is 1-3/4” wide.
