This old-fashioned burl veneer wood picture frame offers a warm honey-brown tone on a scooped profile that leads up to a decorative black outer ridge. The profile width is 1-1/8”, and the rabbet depth is 3/8”, perfect for matted sepia-tone portraits and old fashioned 4” x 5” large-format photography.
Due to the thickness of this scooped burl veneer frame, it’s best to limit frame designs to matted works on paper such as prints, photographs, drawings, collage, pastels, and watercolor paintings. Thin panel paintings and canvas boards could also fit nicely within the given rabbet depth.
