This custom black picture frame features a distressed dark walnut veneer with a dusty black quill pattern along the outer ridge of the profile. A rounded concave scoop drops in from the ridge toward the inner lip. The entire scoop is covered in a dark walnut veneer.
The profile width of this walnut scooped black picture frame is 1 1/8”, and the rabbet depth is 3/8”, making this frame best suited for matted prints, posters, and original fine art on paper due to the limited depth of the frame profile.
This style is inspired by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who was the first European to cross the Pacific Ocean, and whose expedition lead to the first successful circumnavigation around the world.
