This economical, mahogany-colored, wood picture frame features the look of wood grain over a gesso finish on a wood substrate. The profile shape is a gallery style, with a 3/4” width across a flat face, and offers a generous 1-1/8” rabbet depth to accommodate a plethora of picture framing design choices.
Some of the picture framing design methods that this mahogany wood picture frame could pair with include matted float mounts, shallow shadowbox designs, and traditional framing of stretched canvas art.
For example, watercolor paintings with a deckled edge could be floated on acid free archival mat board, and this mahogany colored wood picture frame would accommodate the necessary depth needed to space up the art or matting.
For shadowbox designs, consider thin items such as medallions, lapel pins, and award ribbons. This type of design could include photos and memorabilia together. For stretched canvases, this picture frame is ideal for canvases with stretcher bars that are less than 1-1/4” deep.
When matting artwork with this mahogany wood picture frame, consider acid free archival mat options such as Milk Shake 9588 and Fresh Brew 9590. Another pleasant combination would be Tusk 9516 and Sand Trap 9513. For a more khaki option, try Wet Sand 9515 along with Marooned 9574 to pull out the mahogany color.
