This black shadow box frame features a substantial rabbet depth of 2-1/4”, ideal for framing deep shadowbox items such as jerseys, memorabilia, hobby collections, and floated objects. The profile width is 1”.
This black shadow box frame is also ideal for deep stretched canvas paintings and any art where a substantial thickness in the frame would provide a desired visual weight to emphasize the importance of a work of art, whether it’s a matted paper print or a painting on panel.
For shadowbox designs consider using strips of matboard or other thin material to build up the walls, in order to hold your glazing of choice toward the front of the frame, while your backing matboard sits toward the back of the frame.
