This beautiful silver fillet features a slightly scooped bevel across the ¼” smooth face. This fillet is a versatile enhancement to any traditional picture framing design. It can be used in conjunction with a reverse-beveled matboard, or it can be used to line a picture frame without matting. In either case, this silver fillet adds a touch of class and distinction to express the importance of the item being framed.
When stacked directly with a picture frame, consider black or gray picture frames that will complement and also contrast this silver fillet. Consider V190 or V684 for black frame options, and V1328, V486, and V261 for gray frame options. When used properly, this silver fillet will make the artwork “pop”.
Another method for incorporating this silver fillet into your picture framing design is to choose acid free archival matboard to go around works of art on paper. By placing this silver fillet along the edge of the mat window, it creates the appearance of a “frame within a frame”, which accentuates the shape of the art.
In essence, this method of fillet enhancement creates a portal between reality and the “other world”that exists behind the surface of the art. In this way, this silver fillet invites the viewer literally into the art.
