This contemporary dark gray wood picture frame features an wood grain veneer that looks weathered. The profile width is 1-1/2”, and the rabbet depth is 9/16”.
The upscale and sophisticated look of this contemporary dark gray wood picture frame is distinctly modernist, and pairs with urban, Scandinavian, Nordic, Palladian, and nautical design themes that emphasize cool colors and wintry themes.
For example, using a navy blue wood stain over the dark gray veneer would provide a more nautical design sensibility. Painting a layer of greenish blue-gray wash would set a more Palladian look. And hand rubbing the veneer with oil and wax would polish the surface and increase the sheen to complement sealed concrete beams and shiny gray floors.
