This rustic, dark green, burl wood picture frame features a unique set of characteristics that distinguish this profile for country living spaces and specific art themes. The profile is 1-3/4” wide, and the rabbet depth is a mere 3/8”, limiting this frame’s use to matted works of art on paper, thin artwork on panels, prints, posters, maps, and mirrors.
Starting at the inner lip, this dark green picture frame profile features a small bead, followed by the deckled edge of a burl veneer. The profile then scoops up in a concave fashion, and we see the other deckled edge of the veneer, before the profile plateaus onto a final 1/4” flat strip along the outer edge of the frame. The entire profile is distressed, and features a dark green wash.
Possible themes that would fit this dark green picture frame include Western cowboy art, Australian outback art, Louisiana Bayou landscapes, desert paintings featuring sage brush, and wildlife art such as alligators of the Florida Everglades.
