When a basic black picture frame is just too simple, you might consider small variations that distinguish your frame from all the others. V1339 is a black wooden picture frame that does just that, with a dark charcoal wood grain finish across the 7/8” flat face, and a super thin, tan bevel on both edges of the profile. It’s these subtle features that transform the concept of a basic black frame to accommodate aficionados of nuance.
This black wooden picture frame is an excellent choice for 5x7 table top picture frames, or slightly larger frames for matted prints. However, the best use for this frame might be in framing sepia tone photographs or vintage family keepsakes.
Try framing your artwork with a white, gray, or olive mat, or frame several pieces separately in a series, and you’ll find that this picture frame moulding serves its function and keeps your choices fresh when it comes to choosing a small black frame. Although you could frame larger artworks in this frame, you might consider a more substantial frame such as V1307, which features a lovely scoop in addition to the grain and color characteristics of V1339.
Finally, consider that the rabbet depth is 7/16”. For this reason, you might consider a deeper frame for stretched canvases or thick art in general.
