A beautiful, large, wide gold frame with ribs, that will make a statement about any piece of art that is in it. At 4” wide, it is one of the largest mouldings we have. The ribs, combined with a 1-3/4" elegantly beveled yet subtle leaf marked surface, actually make the frame look even bigger. It's 1" rabbet depth is versatile enough for stretched canvases, panels and multi layered 3D mats with spacers for flat art like photo's, watercolors and other art on paper.
The finish on this frame features a stunning gold color, with a red undertone to give the gold color a warmer brushed finished look, with occasional leaf marks that symbolize the ancient process of applying gold leaf by hand. The yellow gold colored finish sits on a gesso base, which is applied to a real wood substrate.
Additional uses for this picture frame include framing smaller pieces of art with single or multi layered mats, where a bold frame highlights the small size of the work. This frame is also ideal for beveled mirrors, and other heavy art pieces as the size of the frame provides plenty of support for their weight.
